web comparison

The first website :
http://www.abcnews.com/

This is a well-designed news website, the home page is very informative. The layouts of webpage is clear, spacing between the headlines of topics are appropriate and easy to read. With each realistic picture appear beside every heading where you mouse on it, it's easy to attract the reader's attention and interest.

The head potion of the webpage is reasonable designed. so as to separate its contents from different links. For the seek of the interest from the readers, the clear classification of different categories of news are shown.

Furthermore, there are ample screen captures of the scene in the respective scenarios and events, even news videos about certain occurrence are shown. Apart from assisting the reader to know more about what happened, it has also made up a decent display about the webpages. The whole website appears more to be a professionalize guidance through the presentation to show us how a good news website is look like.

visual consistency is also applied through out different webpages on the website for different news categories. The contents has convey its information properly to the readers, The webpages are also fast-loading, readers finds it quick and easy to access.
` ` ` ` ` ` `

As seen on the HTML source, the website uses external CSS.It means the website uses external linked style sheet that will affect ALL the pages in the site. The advantage of using external CSS is that it allows text to be consistent from page to page outside the document. Usage of JavaScript, would also capture the viewers attention, due to moving images or videos.

The Bad Website :
http://msy.com.au/

MSY is an Australian technology company boasting “more than 10 years in the computer industry”. Unfortunately their definition of “computer industry” clearly does't encompass web design as pages such as these, selling Flash memory and other assorted products demonstrates.

This website is too simple in terms of design and content, non of the C.R.A.P is applied, there is no clear navigation to guide the readers, and the reader hardly find out where to obtain information they need. More images added would certainly make the website more attractive, and the proper use of contrast would not make the content look so dull and unattractive.

It just too much text appearing within this page, its really hard to read , there is little proximity between lines, word are small, high linings are dull looking, there's no fancy looking designs are found. A good idea would be to add more images instead of words, as well as implement some colouring at the background, as viewers are more likely to prefer looking at pictures about their products than only from reading. Because of its unprofessional displays, it may let most consumers having a strong feeling that its a fraud company.

Its hard to identify the main page and the sub-page, this company's website is considered as a failiar, showing quite a difference from how they are doing in their actual business.

The HTML codes used are nested table, its long, cramped and not in order. The author will find it tedious and tiring to edit the codes as there are too many of them and it is all over the place. Also, the author will find it difficult to debug as the complicated codes are too hard to control, as well as its maintenance.
